Planning to fly a drone during an UNIS excursion or fieldwork?

The use of drones in Svalbard is strictly regulated. Make sure you read and understand the rules and regulations before flying your drone.

Note that this also applies if you intend to capture images or film for private use only, i.e. you will not be allowed to fly you own private drone while participating in an UNIS organized activity, unless you meet our requirements. Make sure to check with the field responsible and the other participants that it’s OK to use the drone and to film the operations. Do not publish film of others where they can be identified without their permission!
