Acclaimed snow conference holds post-excursion at UNIS

UNIS and the Arctic Safety Centre are hosting a large post-excursion with participants from three different continents: Australia, the USA, and Europe.

After a successful conference in Tromsø, where around 700 participants from 13 different nations were present and approximately 200 followed online, UNIS and Arctic Safety Centre are now hosting the ISSW post-excursion 2024.

The International Snow Science Workshop (ISSW) is the world’s largest conference on snow and avalanches, and the conference brought together snow scientists, practitioners, and recreationists to exchange experiences and ideas, focusing on this year’s theme: “A merging of theory and practice.”

“We now look forward to further collaboration and discussions in Longyearbyen, where participants worldwide will continue engaging in the latest snow and avalanche research developments”, one of the organisers Martin Indreiten says.
